Research shows that high-quality
early childhood services and
resources can lead to:
Academic achievement
(more likely to complete college)
Enhanced health and well-being
(20-50% lower risk of chronic disease)
Higher skilled workforce
(2x more likely to have a skilled job)
We strengthened the early childhood development services environment with the help
of our partners.
We developed the early care and education strategy of Abu Dhabi as well as a
framework for direct and indirect early childhood services in the areas of health and nutrition, child
protection, family support, care and education with a special focus on the services of children with
special needs and public participation.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we immediately turned our attention to developing
a plan to address issues resulting from nursery closures.
Ensuring the nursery sector survives the pandemic is of critical importance
for Abu Dhabi to achieve its vision that every young child is healthy, confident, curious, able to learn and develop strong values in a safe, family-friendly Abu Dhabi.
Equally important is the need to create a robust system of high-quality
services and resources that are widely available to prepare our children for the post-oil era.
